Monique Moreira

Ms. Moreira serves as MSR’s managing partner.  Ms. Moreira is a seasoned litigator with experience that belies her age.  With a focus in both trial and appellate practices, Monique primarily represents clients in a variety of complex insurance, reinsurance, and commercial matters.  She has tried multiple cases to verdict and has extensive experience guiding clients from intake through trial and appeal. Monique served as the managing partner of MSR’s previous iteration, Moreira & Moreira which served clients in Northern New Jersey for over 25 years. Monique has truly become a go to, do it all resource for her litigation clients.  

Monique’s  insurance defense practice focuses on defending commercial property owners, Fortune 500 companies and every kind of business in between. These matters span a variety of industries, including real estate, energy, construction, retail and automotive, as well as a demonstrated speciality in the defense of municipal entities.  Monique frequently is able to gain complete dismissals for these clients at the motion to dismiss, summary judgment, and trial stages.  

Additionally, Monique counsels insurers and reinsurers on recovery matters- in both a plaintiff and defense context. These matters involve not only recovery, but also fraud and rescission actions venued in both State and Federal Courts.

Monique’s commercial practice focuses on litigating matters arising out of commercial real estate transactions, as well as estate and probate actions.  Her practice often extends to advising commercial property owners on a variety of real estate issues, including transactions, restructuring and land use.  

Ms. Moreira is a graduate of George Washington University where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in advanced statistics, as well as political science.  She then attended Notre Dame Law School where she served as Executive Editor to the Journal of Legislation and graduated cum laude. Monique is active in the New Jersey Defense Association, serves as the Recording Secretary to the Hudson County Bar Association, and is an attorney member of the Office of Attorney Ethics & Discipline, District VI.
